Tussore chunky loop is in the bag - literally!

Cavalier Bremworth, has reintroduced the carpet bag to celebrate the launch of its new luxury chunky loop pile range for The Bremworth Collection.

The company has joined forces with one of New Zealand's top designers, Roanne Jacobson of Saben, to create the limited edition carpet bag, which has been made from its new Tussore loop pile carpet, combined with leather.

The bag is already being coveted by New Zealand's fashion elite as only 50 have been made in the initial production run. The carpet is distinctive because of a randomly occurring silk slub effect throughout. Two will be auctioned in Auckland on August 26 at the Cavalier Bremworth Art Of Glass Awards. Proceeds will go to Kidz First.

Cavalier Bremworth Marketing Manager Desiree Keown said the project partnership was a natural choice. "Saben reflects an air of contemporary quality in their category which we felt fitted well with the Cavalier Bremworth brand. And all women love a luxury handbag."
The carpet company's latest range features five new designs and 50 colours which, for two months only, will be available at a special price.

"The Cavalier Bremworth name is synonymous with pure New Zealand wool carpet and quality without compromise. Our new range continues that tradition of leading the way in colour, texture and style," said Keown.
The new range includes a deeply soft and luxurious shag pile carpet, Elysium, which offers a
modern and innovative twist on a classic style from the sixties and is the only broadloom shag carpet in 100% wool.

"Shag carpets are really making a comeback", says Keown, "as is carpet in general. Trends show that people are trying to create interiors which provide more softness in an increasingly hardedged world."

Jacobson said the luxury carpet was easy to work with. "It's sensual and flexible and we were delighted to create such a stylish, durable handbag with it. The new range of carpets gave us a lot to choose from and I just love the way the Tussore looks made up in this bucket-style tote."
