Lakeside West Apartments is a smart new complex, sited on the
shores of Lake Wakitipu in Queenstown. Part of a larger scale
Kawerau Falls development, it comprises 42 apartments ranging from
studios through to one and two-bedroom accommodation.
ASC Architects in Auckland rseponded to a brief from the
developer to create luxury accommodation that would reflect the
magnificent surroundings. The apartments have a contemporary
aesthetic wtih clean lines throughout.
The combination cut and loop pile carpet was designed to match
the linear form of the schist rock used in the fireplace and to
have a crispness reflecting that of the apartments themselves.
The plush pile component of the carpet has created a luxurious
underfoot feel and teh soft coluor palette creates a sense of
expanse in the apartment to match the outside scenery.
