Broadloom wool helps with 5 star rating for learning centre

The GippsTAFE Leongatha Learning Centre is
the first GBCA 5 star regional TAFE building in Victoria. The
1650sqm building is located in the Leongatha Education Precinct,
which co-locates the Institute with secondary schools and other
training providers.

The design offers a mix of general purpose and specialist
teaching and learning areas, including a fully equipped commercial
kitchen and restaurant, health, and hair and beauty training.
As a 5 star project all building products were selected to achieve
minimal environmental impact.
The GECA certification of the Cavalier Bremworth
Karatex Encore wool carpet assisted in achieving the 5 star aim
and also provided a neutral, 'natural' and warm aesthetic
sympathetic with bold colours. The carpet is used throughout
all classrooms and in the restaurant and conference room.
However it wasn't only the environmental considerations that
made this carpet a choice for the architects, the fact it was more
cost-effective than modular tiles also played a part in its
selection.
