pre-judging for Open entries
Singapore-based Kerry Hill will join Andrew Patterson of
Patterson Associates and Nat Cheshire of Cheshire Architects on the
judging panel for this year's AAA Cavalier Bremworth Unbuilt
Architecture Awards.

Australian-born, Kerry Hill has been responsible for the design
of many significant developments in South-East Asia and the wider
Pacific region. His achievements in his 40+ years of practice
were recognised by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects
honouring him with their Gold Medal in 2006. In 2010, he received
the Singapore President's Design Award for the Designer of the
Year. He lectures extensively and has taught in several
leading schools of architecture.
In May this year Andrew Patterson's practice was named by the
world's most searched architectural journal; World Architecture
News as one of five firms "whose directional ideas are helping
to shape the future of [world] architecture".
This achievement is unprecedented in New Zealand's creative
community. Patterson Associates are multiple recipients of New
Zealand's highest architectural awards, and are the architects of
New Zealand's only new build 6 star Green rated project- Geyser in
Auckland. Andrew Patterson is also the chairman of the
Auckland Architectural Association for 2011.
The third member of the judging panel, Nat Cheshire, is an
exciting young architect and designer who moves organically from
huge institutional work to the digital fabrication of bespoke door
handles and the hand-finishing of reclaimed furniture. He has been
working in architecture since the mid-nineties, and ran a boutique
practice before joining with Pip to start Cheshire Architects.
The trio will undoubtedly engage in some robust debate in
judging both the student section and the two Open sections of the
awards this year.
